Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Following the interment, the family will receive friends at Fossil Creek Community Church; dinner will be served.
Naomi graduated from Northside High School and married Linnie LaVerne Jones in 1932, and was a devoted wife of 65 years. Naomi valued her role as mother, sister, daughter and a friend in the Fort Worth community. She was an active and charter member of Rosen Heights Assembly of God Church (later Rockwood Park Assembly of God Church, now Fossil Creek Community Church). Naomi was an avid reader and had a great love for all kinds of music. She was the editor of her high school newspaper and the first president of the Women's Missionary Counsel of Rosen Heights Assembly of God Church. She held various leadership positions in the PTA and was a member of the Fort Worth Rose Society. Naomi was a National Garden Club judge and an active member of the Fort Worth Garden Clubs.
The family would like to thank Rosalie Ingram, Van and Patsy Elting, Stephan O'Toole, Adeama Chasteen and the congregation of Fossil Creek Community Church for their prayers, care and concern for Naomi's well-being. They would also like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Broadway Plaza, Dr. Jason Ledbetter and Heart to Heart Hospice for their help for Naomi during her final days.
Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Linnie LaVerne Jones; parents, Rufus Alexander and LuVerna Butler Baird; brother, Sanford Baird; and sisters, Mollie Baird, Nadine O'Toole, Minnie Lee Robertson and Lila Mae Fairbanks.
Survivors: Son, Allan Jones and wife, Wynelle; daughter, Claudia Cushman and husband, Tom Eugene; grandchildren, Candi Lynnette Sullivan and husband, Michael, and Kyle Thomas Cushman; nephews, Robert O'Toole and wife, Lunda Mae, David O'Toole and Raymond Jones and wife, Brenda; sister-in-law, Marietta Jones; and many loving friends and extended family.
