8. John 3 Arnett (James 2, Thomas 1) was born May 08, 1770 in Loudoun Co, VA, and died May 26, 1850. He married Mary Dickens.[aka Sarah]
John settled on a 240 acre farm on the headwaters of Arnett's Run in what is now Paw Paw District, Marion Co, WV. He lived his entire life on that farm.
He and his wife had ten [eleven] children. He was the only one of the Arnett families researched by John N. Cunningham to own slaves.

i. William 4 Arnett, b. May 06, 1798; d. March 16, 1869.
ii. Thomas Arnett, b. 1794 d. July 12, 1857.
