Mr. Guinn died at 5:54 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2010, in the Litchfield Healthcare Center, Litchfield.
He was born in Butler Township on Aug. 24, 1915, to John and Lena (Bullard) Guinn. He and Josephine Adams were married in May of 1937; she preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 1998. His parents; three brothers, Ollie, Haskell, and George Guinn; and one sister, Delta Koontz, also preceded him.
He is survived by two sons, William "Bill" R. (wife Pam) Guinn of Donnellson and Stanley "Gene" E. (wife Gretchen) Guinn of Litchfield; one daughter, Sandra K. (husband Charlie) Watson of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A Hillsboro High graduate (class of 1933), he owned and operated Guinn's Tavern in Taylor Springs for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Taylor Springs Fire Department and served on the Civilian Conservation Corps for 17 months.
He was a member of the Full Gospel Church in Schram City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Taylor Springs Fire Department or to the American Diabetes Association.
