Jacob Isaac Taylor married Rhoda Smith, 17 Aug 1817, Clay Co KY. I am not sure where the Jacob comes from because he usually always went by Isaac.

Isaac and Rhoda had 14 children that I know of. Rhoda Smith Taylor was the 5th Great Aunt of Lee Smith and the 6th Great Aunt to our children Staci and Todd Smith.

A copy of the marriage rite was obtained from Clay Co. KY, however no specific reference was provided by the court clerk concerning book or page number. The writing is difficult to read, but it appears to go as follows;

"Know all men by these present, that we Isaac Taylor and Thomas Smith- ----------- acknowledge ourselves in debted to the commonwealth of Kentucky in the sum of 50 Which payment will .... truly to be made we bind ourselves and each of our heirs. Jointly and severally firstly by these presents .... with our seals and dated this 17th day of August 1817.

The con........ of the above obligations is such that where as the above .... Isaac Taylor is about to obtain a license for a marriage in
tended between the said Isaac Taylor to Rody Smith, from the clerks office of the clay county court ----------- Now should there be no lawfull cause to obstruct the marriage there this obligations to be void Else to remain in just force {unknown intials, followed by a Baker?} Aug 17 1817 Isaac Taylor Thomas Smith"
