Funeral services for Ms. Shirley J. Lewis, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in the Chapel of Fellowship United Methodist Church, Hineston, with Reverend Jimmy Koonce officiating. Interment will be in Fellowship United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hineston, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Ms. Lewis, age 76, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 4, 2010, at The Lexington House in Alexandria, Louisiana.
She was a member of Homewood Baptist Church, where she was a longtime volunteer for the church food bank. She was a longtime Banker with Guaranty Bank & Trust and Hibernia National Bank, retiring as Branch Manager of the Tioga Branch in 1999 after 44 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Talma and Carrie Johnson.
She is survived by her former husband and loving friend, Sonny Lewis; one son, Barry Lewis of Alexandria; one daughter, Janet Philen (Ray) of Alexandria; two sisters, Elaine Clift of Coushatta and Verna Floyd of Greenwall Springs; four grandchildren, Kaycee Smart (Wes), Riley Philen, Callie Philen and Brady Philen; one great grandson, Kain Wesley Smart.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Doyle, Riley Philen, Terry Clift, Jamie Floyd, Jeff Floyd and Jody Floyd.
