"Payson --- Ray Jackson, 73, of Payson, died Friday, April 29, 1983 in Mountain View Hospital.

"He was born April 12, 1910, in Lyman to John Henry and Maria VanDyke Jackson.

"He married Armelia Clay Taylor on March 25, 1930, in the Manti LDS Temple.

"He was educated in Wayne County schools. He moved to West Mountain in 1940 where he owned and operated a farm for 25 years. Later, the Jacksons moved to Payson where they had lived for the past 20 years. He retired from Utah State Hospital where he worked as a carpenter. He also had worked at Geneva Steel and Tooele Army Depot. He had been a member of the Payson Senior Citizens for the past year. He was a member of the LDS Church.

"Survivors include his wife of Payson; five sons, Farrell R. Jackson, Chicago; Alton D. Jackson, Spanish Fork; Glenn W. Jackson, West Valley City; Karl E. Jackson of Salem; John K. Jackson of Genola; 27 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Dorella Bown [?] of Payson; Mrs. Millie Herbert of Benjamin and Mrs. Marold [?] (Vonda) Hardman of Klamath, Ore.

"Funeral will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., in the Payson East Stake Center, 600 E. 75 S. Friends may call Walker Mortuary of Payson on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. or Tuesday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Payson City Cemetery."
