Her NC Death cert. no. 314 reports her death from burns when her clothing caught on fire. She was buried at this cemetery on Nov. 9, 1938.

Mary was a daughter of Julius Adore Coffey and Aster Jane Dellinger and the wife of Fred Roosevelt Oxentine.

Her children that I am aware of were Allie Louise; Elsie May and Eva Irene. Elsie and Eva are buried here; I have not yet found Allie's burial site.
Other children were Hayden Perry Oxendine 1935-2012, buried in Burke County NC and Ethelene ?, buried in Georgia. Allie is still living as of 2024.
