He was an auto mechanic and good provider. He had a good sense of humor and quick wit. He married Esther O. Mullikin Riley on August 25, 1925 at Pine Bluff. He was the father of Mildred Ann "Mickey" Riley Welch, Charles Riley
Jr., Mary Lou Riley Smith & Peggy Joyce Riley Reichard.
