Thomas served in Co E, 9th Battalion, Missouri Sharp Shooters CSA in the Civil War. The Company surrendered in Louisiana and after a few weeks he was allowed to return to his home in Missouri.

About 1900, he moved his family to Brentwood, Washington Co, AR near Fayetteville, where two of his brothers had relocated.

The Higbee Weekly News 10 Feb 1905--T. M. Bradley returned to his home in Brentwood, Ark, Wednesday after a two months' visit with his sons John and Milt.

Thomas was the grandfather of Five Star General Omar Nelson Bradley.
