He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge. He was a Navy veteran of World War I. He was president of the C.G. Garrigus Co., Haddam, for 44 years before retiring in 1965.
He was a member of the First Church of Christ, East Haddam, Conn., for 60 years, and served on the board of deacons, the board of trustees and the Ecclesiastical Society. He attended Central Congregational Church for 22 years.
Mr. Garrigus was a member of Granite Lodge 119 AF & AM, Haddam, and the North Attleboro Historical Society.
He was married to Helen (Wilcox) Garrigus.
Besides his wife he leaves a son, Norman A. Garrigus of Attleboro; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
