Wife of James H. Davis, they were married on October 6, 1881 in Bryan County, Georgia.

Daughter of Jesse Phillips and Grace Ann Iler.

Mrs. J. H. Davis, Pembroke, GA - April 21 - Mrs. Lizzie Phillips Davis, wife of J. H. Davis, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Gill, this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at Bragg Baptist Church, Roding, with Rev. Mr. Hodges, pastor of the church, officiating. Mrs. Davis, who reached the mature age of seventy-eight, was of a sweet disposition, and while her health had been poor for some time, bore her suffering with patience and fortitude. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Besides her aged husband, she is survived by the following: two daughters, Mrs. George Gill, Pembroke and Mrs. W. M. Harden, Ways; six sons, H. H. Davis of Ways, W. H., H. W., R. D., James H. Jr., and Raleigh Davis, all of Clyde, by a sister, Mrs. Fronie East of Pooler and by a large number of grandchildren. Bowers Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of arrangements.
