Edna had a 6th grade education at a rural school north of Overton. She was united in marriage to Vernon E. Dewey on November 10, 1937, at Broken Bow, Nebraska. Following their marriage the couple lived on a farm southwest of Eddyville, Nebraska, moving then to a farm northwest of Sumner. The couple moved to the "south place" on the same section later on, and in 1960, moved from the country to Lexington.
Edna was employed at Roepke Care Home for 15 years. She then cleaned houses for Social Services and volunteered many hours at the Grand Generation Center for 18 years. She loved being with the folks at the Center. She enjoyed playing Bingo and playing her penny and five-cent machines at Rosebud. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and so enjoyed going when she was able. Edna was proud of her family and enjoyed family gatherings and hearing all the details of everyone's lives. She will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her.
