Harold Ross

Chester - Harold A. Ross, 83, of Chester, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010, at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness. A son of the late Charles and Thelma Widdoes Ross he was born on June 2, 1926, in Hopedale, Ohio, A veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, he retired as a custodian at the John D. Rockefeller Vocational school in Hancock County and he was a member of the Chester First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by one sister Virginia House and one baby brother. Survivors include his wife, Marion Ruth Barmer Ross; two daughters, Joyce Dotson and Marlene Byrne both of Chester; three grandchildren; and seven great - grandchildren. Pastor Phil Fairchild of the church will conduct private services at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester and entombment will follow at the Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
