Christopher Cleburne was assigned to the Confederate 2nd Kentucky Cavalry Regiment.

Brother of the famous Confederate General Patrick Cleburne. During the battle of Cloyd's Mountain, Captain Christopher S. Cleburne requested that if he were to perish that he wanted to be buried where he fell. He is buried in a memorial wayside named after him. The Battle of Cloyd's Mountain only last about an hour.

Christopher was a half brother to MG Cleburne. MG Cleburne's mother was Mary Ann Ronayne.
