"Alma Jean Hamilton - Barlow went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 15th, 2008. Born Eugenia Alma Hayes on March 29th, 1912, she grew up on a farm near Wellston, OK, where her parents had settled during the Oklahoma Run in 1889.

She was the youngest of 8 children born to Franklin Benjamin and Emma Catherine Hayes. Alma married Lawrence McKinley Hamilton on Dec. 5th, 1931 and they settled in Edmond to raise their four daughters. Alma worked with her husband as he operated the original Kerr McGee Service Station on 15th and Broadway. Lawrence preceded Alma in death on Feb. 27th, 1976. Alma and her sister Jackie traveled extensively, visiting many countries.

She met and married Herman Barlow on Aug, 29th, 1987, and they traveled together until Herman passed away in Jan. 2005.

Alma is survived by her daughters, Mary Kathryn Harvey of Edmond; Carolyn (Bob) Helms of Tulsa; Sharon (Jim) Thompson of Tulsa and Beverly (Larry) DuPriest of Dallas, Texas.

Alma’s legacy, besides her daughters, is eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren who delighted her very being. Viewing will be at Baggerly Funeral Home on Friday, July 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the family viewing from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are Saturday, July 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Fellowship Church, 329 W. 2nd Street in Edmond."
