Rex Bertrand Garrett, age 82, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away September 6, 1992.

He was born Dec. 22, 1909 in Nephi, Utah to Louis and Estella Boswell Garrett. Married Edith Sells in Provo, Utah Sept. 19, 1932; marriage solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Rex served seven years as the Bishop of the Copperton LDS Ward and also as a High Councilman and a temple worker in both the Salt Lake and Jordan River LDS Temples. He was active in the Bingham Lions Club and retired from Kennecott Copper after many years of service.

Survivors: wife, Edith, Copperton; daughters, Dorothy Oldham, Marjorie Withers and husband, Ivan, all South Jordan; Maxine Crellin and husband, Jerry, Sandy; JoAnn Davis and husband, Bob, Green River, Wyoming; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; brothers and sister, Glen, Kaysville; Earl, Glendale, California; Paul, Seattle, Washington; Dean, American Fork; Bernice Walter, Ventura, California. Preceded in death by a son, Grant; daughter, Lynda Kaye; brother, Ralph; sisters, Eleda Matthews and Hortense Allen.

Funeral services Thursday, September 10, 1992, at 11 a.m. in the Copperton LDS Ward Chapel, Copperton. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale, Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
