Ellen was my maternal grandmother. I was her first grandchild, and she loved her grandchildren very much. She grew up in Mississippi, the youngest after 7 brothers. She and my grandfather moved to the Chicago area after they were married in 1933. They had 3 daughters, Marita Ann(my mother), Martha Elaine, and Margaret Ellen. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. I figure she'll be waiting in heaven for me with a peach pie, fresh green beans and chicken 'n' dumplings!!
