Lynda V. Massey Bynum, 75, of Spotsylvania County died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at her home.

Graveside services were held at the Augusta Memorial Park in Augusta, Arkansas with Thompson-Wilson Funeral Directors of McCrory, Arkansas in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bynum was born in Augusta, Arkansas to Vernon N. and Mabel C. Massey.

She took great pleasure from her hobbies, gardening, cooking and quilting. In 1980, she represented the Alabama Poultry and Egg Producers Association at the National Chicken Cooking Contest in Atlanta, GA. She was a member of the Virginia Star Quilters Guild.

Survivors include her husband, James A. Bynum of Spotsylvania County, daughter: Julia Bynum Dudley and her husband John Dudley of Zebulon, NC; son, James S. Bynum and his wife Sarah Flores Bynum of Virginia Beach, two granddaughters, Rachel and Stephanie Bynum of Virginia Beach, aunt; Elizabeth Harrington of Ft. Worth, Texas; two nieces, Mary Nelle Garton Wright of North Little Rock, AR and Laura Garton Wiltshire of Little Rock, AR; nephew, John Garton of Batesville, AR and numerous cousins.

Mrs. Bynum was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rosemary Massey Garton of Augusta, AR.
