Henry Clay Chitwood, 75, of Oneida, died August 24, 1998, at the Scott County Hospital. Born in Scott County, Tenn., July 2, 1923, he was the son of the late Ernest and Georgia Litton Chitwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded also in death by one sister, Virginia Autry. He was a member of Highway Baptist Church and Oneida Masonic Lodge #695. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Brannon Chitwood; two sons: Rick Chitwood and wife, Nancy of Powell, Tenn., and Scott Chitwood and wife, Madolyn of Winchester, Tenn.; two sisters: Ernestine Stamper and husband, Andy of Mansfield, Ohio, and Bernette Bell of Vandalia, Ohio; one brother, Richard Chitwood and wife, Doris of Vandalia, Ohio; four grandchildren, two special nephews, Jake Autry and Donald Bell, both of Oneida; several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted August 26, 1998, in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Smith officiating. Music was provided by Paul and Joel Chitwood.
