Mr. Mainord, 100 years old, died Tuesday at the Bertrand Retirement Home after an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 23, 1887, in New Madrid County, the son of Allen Houston and Laura Hill Mainord. He and the former Myrtis Scott were married Mar. 31, 1913. She died Dec. 21, 1973.
He was a lifelong resident of Mississippi County and a retired farmer. He was a member of the First Christian Church here, where he was a past deacon and trustee, and a member of the W.O.W. Lodge.
Survivors include three sons, Scott, Bill and Robert Mainord; two daughters, Lauranna Clevidence and Mary Brice; a sister, Mrs. Mayme DeField; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, granddaughter, two sisters and a brother.
