Chief of the Brentwood TN Fire Dept, Inc. from 1961-83. Jack was the son of John Franklin and Mary Bell Haley Burke. He married Ethel Mai Hooberry of Nashville. Early in his career he served with the Nashville Police Dept. and later the Davidson County Tennessee Sheriff's Department. Later he operated the Burke Detective Agency before establishing three private fire departments in the 1950's and early 1960's; Thompson Lane (Nashville), Tusculum, and Brentwood. In 1961 he moved to Brentwood and was a member of the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce where he served on Brentwood incorporation committee (1969). Chief Burke was also a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association and competed in the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in the 1960's. He was a communicant of the St. Philip Catholic Church in Franklin.
