Mrs. Ellaree Burden Smith, 80, of Lanett, AL died Monday evening, 1 Dec 2003 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, GA.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, 4 Dec 2003 at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley, AL with Rev Hugh Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Jesse Gordon Smith; two daughters, Jane Smith of Lake Harding Community and Ellen (Scotty) Harper of Lanett, AL; and two grandchildren, Chelsea Harper and Dylan Harper, both of Lanett, AL.
Born 10 Aug 1923 in Joppa, AL, Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Auburn University and a homemaker. She had formerly worked as a teacher in the Fairfax community and had also worked as a secretary at the Lanett Bleachery and Dye Works. Mrs. Smith was a member of Lanett First Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Hattie L. Wright Burden and Gaines M. Burden.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, 3 Dec 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, AL.
