Isham E. Sheffield (probably Ephraim and named after his father's brother.). His mother was Susannah Clark who died after giving birth to four children, two sons and two daughters. Isham E. was raised along with his two sisters, Catherine (Katy), Elizabeth (Betsy) and younger brother, Bryant and the children of his father (West) by Mary Renfroe Sheffield whom he married next.
Isham E. married Nancy Ann Roberts, daughter of Drury Roberts and Chloe Golightly on 2 November 1834 in Early County. Isham farmed in Georgia until the lure of inexpensive land and encouragement from his sister, Rebecca Sheffield Hooks who had moved to Tyler County in 1852, beckoned him, along with his family, to pack-up and move to Tyler County, Texas.
Isham E. and Nancy farmed in the Spurger area of Tyler County and raised their family there. Nancy died on 5 August 1890 and Isham E. died two days later on 7 August 1890. Both are buried in Beech Creek Cemetery in Tyler County, Texas.
