SOPER Carl "Unk", age 73, of Georgetown, MA, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, as the result of an accident.He was born on June 30, 1936, in Chelsea, MA, to George T. and Hazel M. Soper. Employed for many years at Danvers Block in Danvers, MA, and Georgetown Sand & Gravel in Georgetown, MA. Carl had many interests and hobbies including his passion for amateur photography and "capturing the moment" which will serve us well when we need to reminisce of happier times. He enjoyed shopping with Ruth though their purchases were always with someone else in mind. Making others happy was what made Carl happy. He also enjoyed gardening and relaxing by the woodstove while conversing with friends. Beloved husband of Ruth (Murphy) Soper. Survived by four children, Kathleen wife of Ken Sarofeen of Gloucester, MA, Carl Soper, Jr., of Northampton, MA, Diane wife of Bill Aspesi of Rockport, MA, and David and Joann Soper of Gloucester, MA; grandchildren, Jennifer and Rachel Soper, Alyssa Sarofeen, Danielle and Shaun Aspesi, one great-granddaughter Bianca Sarofeen, many nieces and nephews.The brother of Dorothy Hamilton of Chelsea, MA, Eugene Soper and Carolyn Munroe of Gloucester, MA, Ralph Soper of Amesbury, MA, Douglas Soper of Groveland, MA, Dennis Soper of Beverly, MA, and Evelyn Glidden, also, best friend Robert Eaton of Georgetown, MA.Predeceased by his parents and brother Donald. Services will be on Thursday, February 11, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at the Community United Methodist Church, 11 Central Street, Byfield, MA, followed by a Graveside Service at Harmony Cemetery in Georgetown.
