VERNA JEAN JACOBSON ASBELL. Vernie, our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grammie and greatgrammie passed away on her 77th birthday, March 26, 2010. Vernie devoted her life to her family, instilling in her children her passions for gardening, reading and conservative Politics. Born on March 26, 1933 to Henry and Gladys Reynolds Jacobson, Vernie was predeceased by her husband William J. Asbell, Sr. She is survived by her sister Zelda Bogash; 4 children: Lawrence Higbee, Karen Vermillion, Jennifer Bayles and William J. Asbell, Jr. 10 grandchildren: Jon Vermillion, Danielle Vermillion, Katie Vermillion, Sara Vermillion, Will Asbell, Alex Asbell, Matt Asbell, Caroline Kisler, Christopher Higbee and Sean Higbee. Her legacy includes 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer, Pastor Burt Palmer officiant.
