Mr. Short, a Graves County native, died at 6:20p.m. Thursday at Western Baptist Hospital.
He was a retired laborer for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and was a member of Southland Baptist Temple.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille Short; three sons, Larry Short of Warren, Mich., Ronnie Short of Ledbetter, and Charles Short of Reidland; six daughters, Edna Branon and Mary Pierce, both of Sharpe, Judith Edwards of Riedland, Anna Kendall of Peru, Ind., Lena Mae Mathis of Paducah, and Dorothy Hill of Warren; a brother, Joe Short of Mayfield; 19 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Linnie Langston, and a grandson preceded him in death. His parents were Elvis and Liza Bell Short.
