Beloved mother, wife and sister, Virginia West Olsen Bossard, died on October 31, 1998, in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born on June 21, 1916, in Lehi, Utah, the daughter of W. Howard and Ella Davis West. She lived in Salt Lake City since the age of eight years.Attended University of Utah and LDS Business College. Employed by the federal government most of her adult life. Married Burt R. Olsen in June 1939. He died in February 1971. Married the Honorable Judge Sterling R. Bossard in December 1976. They served LDS missions together in London, England East Mission at the Hyde Park Chapel Visitors Center. Served as hosts on Temple Square in Salt Lake City for five years. Served as teacher in MIA, Sunday School and Relief Society. Junior Sunday School coordinator, secretary and activity counselor of MIA, Relief Society, Relief Society visiting teacher coordinator, as well as visiting teacher and member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Survived by husband, Sterling R. Bossard; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Evan Allred, Centerville, UT; three grandchildren, Amy (Gary) Oakeson, San Diego, CA; Elizabeth (Erik) Christianson, Kearns, UT; Casey Allred, Centerville, UT; stepdaughters, Jan (Darrell) Zufelt, Bountiful, UT; and Karen Andrews, Corona, CA; brother, Harold (Maxine) West; three sisters, Lucile (Irwin) Johnson, Maxine (Sterling) Ryser, and Ann (Fenton) Pulsipher. Preceded in death by parents, husband Burt R. Olsen, and sister Maurine Jensen.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 1998, in the Cottonwood 12th Ward Stake Center, 1750 East Spring Lane. Family and friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, and at the stake center on Thursday from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Lifecare Center of Bountiful for their care and kindness to Virginia during her final days.
