Born October 8, 1915 in Riverside, Utah, daughter of John Quincy and Thursa Amelia Tingey Adams. Married Willard Randall Meeks August 28, 1952. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member of the LDS Church serving in many capacities.
Veteran World War II, served in the Army Nurse Corps. Worked in VA Hospital for 30 years. After retirement served with her husband in the San Antonio, Texas Mission.
Survived by daughters, Nedra (Wallace T.) Shiverdecker, Richfield, Utah; and Ivie (John W.) Phippen, Holladay, Utah; 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Penberthy, Centerville, Utah; and FaeLela (Budd C.) Argyle, Gilroy, California. She enjoyed many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Maurine Adams.
Ruth had many, many dear friends throughout her life whose hearts were touched by her loving care and gentle nature. She always enjoyed helping others.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, 1995 at 12 noon at the Little Cottonwood 14th Ward Chapel, 1160 Vine Street. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive and Friday at the church from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and "N" Street.
