Carma Markham Vernal, Utah Carma Merkley Walsh Markham passed away March 26, 2010. She was born February 8, 1928 to Joseph Nelson and Mary Luella Swensen Merkley. She was raised in Dry Fork and attended Uintah High School, but spent most of her life in Salt Lake City. Carma loved playing cards, fishing, camping, and going to Wendover, and family gatherings and parties. She was involved in the school lunch program; her and Jim worked together in Kress lunch room. She also worked for the Auerbach Company for 22 years. Carma is survived by her husband Earl Markham; brother, Rell (Kathy); sisters, Echo (Frank) Allen Joella (Reid) Goodrich, all of Vernal, Utah step children Erlene (Allen) Wool-slayer, Norman Markham, Debra Markham, Catherine (Mike) Strickland, Donald Markham; sisters-in-law, Valina and Charlene, four grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband James Walsh, Jimmy Garr, Kieth (Carma's Twin), Arvid, Oral, Tad, Roland, Glen Merkley, Irene Adams and Denzell Adams. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Maeser Stake Center. Interment will be in the Dry Fork Cemetery under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
