August Grohe was born in Holstein, Germany Jan 6, 1855. At the age of 15 years he came with his parents to American and settled at Comanche, IA.
He was married to Minnie Linder JAN 11, 1897. The couple moved from Indiana to a farm near Schaller moving thence to a farm north east of Sac City where they resided until 14 years ago.
Mrs Grohe died Feb 9, 1920.
He is survived by 3 children: Flora, wife of AB Mooney; Harry A and Ernest C; and 3 grandchildren, Kenneth and Harold Mooney and Dorothy Grohe. One grand daughter preceded him in death April 26, 1920. He also leaves one brother, Herman Grohe of Sac City and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Baptist church in Sac City Friday afternoon at 2, with burial at Oakland cemetery. Pall bearers will be C Orville Lee, FC Hoyt, JO Ralph, AE Webb, Bert Saddoris, and Will Cole.
