Born near Rushville May 22, 1879, Mr. Callison had spent his entire life in this vicinity. He attended the rural schools, was graduated from the Kellogg high school and has been engaged in farming since that time until he suffered a stroke about two years ago which caused him to retire. He and Mrs. Callison had returned from Florida where they had spent the winter a few weeks ago and he had seemed in his usual health until he was suddenly stricken Saturday afternoon at his home northwest of town.
He was united in marriage to Minnie Dennis of Newton Jan. 8th, 1902, and five children were born to them all of whom survive.
Mrs. Callison preceded him in death during the influenza epidemic in 1918 and he was united in marriage to Nancy Lowden of Kellogg Dec. 15th, 1921.

Survivors include his widow; two sons, Ross of this place and Pvt. Jack Callison, of the U.S. Air Corps now stationed at Boca Raton Field, Florida; three daughters, Mrs. Roy Williams of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Marvin Pickering and Mrs. Hollis Benson of this place; a brother William Callison of Miller S. Dakota; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Smith, Mrs. F. S. Carris of Redfield and Mrs. R. E. Brighman of Des Moines, several grand children, and a number of nieces and nephews.
