The parents of Stacy Tuell Stephens Kirkham were Charles Tuell and Nancy Fitzgerald. Charles Tuell was born in Maryland in 1753. In 1800 she married first John Stephens. They lived in Harrison County, Indiana and had 8 children. John died sometime before 27 Aug 1810. In 1813 she married Henry Kirkham, who was himself one of 12 children. She had 7 more children by Henry. In 1823 Stacy's daughter Nancy Jane Stephens married William Kirkham, Henry's youngest brother. Thus, the mother and daughter were also sisters-in-law. Stacy's brother-in-law was also her son-in-law. Nancy Jane's children were Stacy's grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. The children were to each other, variously, brothers and sisters, step brothers and step sisters, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins in many degrees. She is buried in a small church graveyard in Webster Township, near Corydon, Indiana, Old Salem Baptist Church.Stacy was most likely born in Washington Co., PA. When Stacy was still a baby her family moved to the Mason/Fayette/Fleming County area of present day KY. She 1st married John Stephens about 1800 in Fayette or Fleming Co., KY. Sometime between 1805 and 1809 they moved to Harrison Co., Indiana Territory. John Stephens passed away shortly after the move in 1810. Stacy married Henry Kirkham on Jan. 10, 1813 in Harrison Co., Indiana Territory. Stacy had between 12 and 15 children according to different researchers.
