John Brown Grigsby was named after his mother's side of the family - She was Nancy Brown and his father was William Grigsby (Old Billy).

Name correction for "Dr John B Grisby" - change to "Dr. John Brown Grigsby" - also last name for "Carolina Ann Jarnagin Grisby".

An article by J. AS. Dunn was written in the Knoxville Journal in November 1931 - the "Seen and Heard" column.

It states "the State of Tennessee awarded Dr. John Brown Grigsby with 4200 acres of land located on both sides of Clinch Mountain...Dr. Grigsby continued in his practice until his death which occurred as he was crossing this mountain to make calls on patients. His body was carried back to Red House where he was buried in Red House Cemetery next to his wife"

I have another snippet stating "Julia Ann Grigsby McKinney erected a gravestone in Red House Cemetery to her father Dr. John Brown Grigsby. Her mother Carolyn Ann Jarnagin was buried in the cemetery but the original marker was lost and the grave NOW UNMARKED".

I am a direct descendant of Dr. John and Caroline/Carolina.
