Leonard "Rocky" Rockwell, 74, died Saturday, March 20, 2010 at an Abilene medical center.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. in Abilene. Military rites will follow in the Masonic Section of the Abilene Municipal Cemetery.

The son of Cora Elizabeth (Everly) and Albert Henry Rockwell, Leonard was born on March 14, 1936 in South Union, Pennsylvania, and was reared in McClellandtown, Pennsylvania. In 1954 he joined the U. S. Air Force and retired in 1974. In 1968, he moved from Fairbanks, Alaska to Abilene, where he began working in 1974 for the Abilene City Cemetery, a career which lasted over 17 years.

Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Isabel Rockwell; his parents; and a sister, Connie.

Survivors include his daughters, Mary Ann Moreno, Amy Lou Pequeno and husband, Israel, Sr., and Melinda Rodriguez and husband, Clifford, Jr., all of Abilene; brothers, Richard, Charles, and Albert; sisters, Carol and Delores; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
