Albert W. Gast, age 99, Wittenberg, died Tuesday, January 1, 1980 at his residence.

He was born April 23, 1880 in the town of Larabee, Waupaca County, the son of the late Ferdinand and Frederika (Schroeder) Gast.

On March 22, 1906 he married Emma Boettcher in Antigo. She preceded him in death on December 18, 1948.

Survivors include two sons, Ferdinand, Shawano and Henry (Lorena), Bowler; three daughters, Ella (William) Hartman, Manawa, Selma "Sally" Drews, Wittenberg and Dorothy Schenk, Antigo; one sister, Clara (Otto) Knitt, Clintonville; 20 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Albert was preceded in death by one son, Walter and one daughter, Irene.

Funeral services were held January 3, 1980 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. The Rev. Richard Borchers officiated. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, town of Almon.
