Friederike "Frida" Caroline Elisabeth Grüschow was born in Moltzow (Rambow), Mecklenburg, Germany. She was a twin with her brother Friedrich "Chris" Gruschow. Parents: Friedrich & Caroline Buttner Gruschow. She married Ferdinand Carl August Seyberlich (later used Seyferlich) on Oct 19, 1849 at Rambow, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. They lived in Waren (on lake Mueritz), Meck.-Schw. They immigrated to Chicago in 1854 on the sailing ship "Humboldt" out of Hamburg, Germany, with the Gruschow families. They had 9 children; Carl/Charles, Bertha, Frida, Franz, Gus, Ernst, Charles, Fred and Arthur. They were members of First Saint Paul's German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chicago. Two of their sons, Charles & Arthur became Chicago Fire Dept. Chiefs.
