Nannie Frances Abercrombie passed away last night at her home, 324 East Main Street, succumbing to a heart ailment with which she had been affected for the past five months. Born Nannie Frances, to Calvin and Polly Brock, at Norcross, Georgia, 5 Apr 1874, she had attained the age of 69 years, 7 months, 10 days, when she was called to her eternal home, at Beloit, Kansas, 15 Nov 1943. On 18 Mar 1896, at Blackwell, Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to Clem T. Abercrombie, who predeceased her. To this union six children were born. One, Oma Marie, predeceased her and she is survived by the following children: Clemeth C. Abercrombie, Barnard, Kansas; John D. Abercrombie, Pasco, Washington; Homer T. Abercrombie, Barnard, Kansas; Ivan H. Abercrombie, New York City, and Mrs. Vern Gum, Joplin, Missouri. There are eight grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters: William Brock, San Francisco, California; Roy Brock, Cocoa, Florida; Guy Brock, San Francisco, Calfornia; Tillie Poole, Winter Haven, Florida; and Savannah Brock, Wichita, Kansas. To these sorrowing close relatives are added a host of admiring friends who mourn her departure. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Abercrombie resided at Blackwell, Oklahoma, in Wichita, Kansas and then moved to their farm south of Beloit, in the Salt Creek community, and later into Beloit city, which had since been the family home. She was a lady who carried the trust and esteem of all who knew her and the excellent traits of Christian character evidenced in her every day life. She had lived a good life and goes to a just reward mourned by a large circle of relatives and friends. She was a member of the Presbyterian Chruch and of the Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. C. Lewis Irwin at the Saltville Presbyterian Church at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, and interment will be in the Saltville Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the McDonald Undertaking Parlor after 9 a.m. on Thursday morning.
