Ralph E. Knouse Ralph E. Knouse Arendtsville Adams County, died last night a his home after an illness of two days He 73 years old.
Emploed by the Kouse Food Co.. Peach Glen, as a weighmaster he was stricken ill on Tuesday night at work. He was born in Adams County, the son of the Isaiah and Agnes Hartman Knouse.
Mr. Knouse attended Shippensburg State Teachers College and taught school in various parts of Adams County for a number of years. Later he operated a grocery store at Brysonia for more thar 30 years, retiring four years ago
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Arendtsville. and the Men's Bible Class of the Sunday School, which he taught for more than 30 years, and the Arendtsville Fire Company.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Bushey Knouse; a daughter, Mrs. Guy Herrings. Arendtsville; four brothers. Bruce. RD3, Gettysburg; Roy, Silver Run, Md.; Harry. Gettysburg, and M. E. Knouse, Arendtsville; four sisters, Mrs. Eva Rexroth and Mrs. Charles Zeigler, Arendtsville; Mrs. Merle Culp. Bendersville, and Mrs Harry Kime, RD1. Biglerville; a step-sister. Mrs. George Trostle, York Springs, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will he held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville Rev. Robert K Schaull will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Arendtsville.
Friends may call tomorrow night at the funeral home.
