Rosa Pearl was my Grandmother.

She was the fourth of nine children born to Marion Dekalb MILER and Eliza Mann LYNCH Miler.

She was married to James Martin CAMPBELL on December 20, 1910, in Pauls Valley, OK.

Rosa Pearl was a teacher in a one-room school house for 3 years before marrying James. After she married, she had to quit teaching because married women were not allowed to teach school. Instead she took care of infants in her home. "Daycare" back then was leaving your children with their caregiver for the entire week and picking them up on the weekend. She also ran a preschool in her home that I attended as a small child. I remember trying to wake everyone up during naptime and getting into lots of trouble for it!

Jim and Pearl had four daughters together:

Allyne Miler Campbell Brust
Berniece Campbell
Eliza Belle "Ayletha" Campbell Caple
May Campbell (1920-1920 living only a few hours)

Cause of death: Abdominal lymphosarcoma.
