Retired Grocer Dies at Hospital
Elmer Dunn, 73, Born in County
Elmer Dunn, 73, of 1701 Ferrell Dr., died Tuesday in St. Francis Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a former grocer and cattleman.
Mr. Dunn was born June 11, 1885, at Bayneville. He had been a Wichita resident most of his life. He owned and operated Dunn Grocery Markets until his retirement in 1946.
He was also a cattleman and active in Aberdeen Angus Assn. Mr. Dunn was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie; a son, Curtis, 940 Back Bay Blvd.; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Hartman, 6504 W. Harry; three sisters, Mrs. David Tammany, Clearwater, Mrs. Paul Bishop, 3220 Elmwood Dr., and Mrs. Homer Shreve, 2 Crestview Lake Estates; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Ivan G. Mattern, pastor, will officiate Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been created with American Heart Assn. in Mr. Dunn's name and memory. The family suggests remembrances be made in this way.
Cochran Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
