Loudoun Times Mirror, December 25, 1980. Thurman Oliver Costello, Sr., a life-long Waterford resident and farmer, died Dec. 17 at his home near Waterford. Born in Chantilly, the son of Oliver T. and Rebecca Dangerfield Simmons Costello, Mr. Costello moved to Waterford at an early age. He was a member of Rehobeth Church at Lovettsville. Surviving are his wife, Esther Virts Costello of the home; two sons, Thurmon O., Jr. Of Waterford and John A. Of Sterling; a daughter; Eleanor Hazel of Broad Run. A daughter and two grandchildren preceded him in death. Interment was in Leesburg Union Cemetery.
