Barbara Jane Eichler Henrie, 49, of Pleasant Grove returned home on Sunday, June 29, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born August 26, 1953 in Rochester, New York to Rolf and Virginia Luther Eichler. Married in 1973 in the Manti LDS Temple, Barbara raised her seven children in both Draper and Pleasant Grove as a single mother.
Barbara grew up in Fairport, New York; where her family joined the LDS Church when she was eight years old. She graduated from Fairport Senior High School in 1971. After high school, Barbara attended BYU and recently returned to school to satisfy her thirst for knowledge. Barbara was well known for her love of life, sense of humor, optimism, and unconquerable faith.
She is survived by her seven children who revere her as the world's best mother: Tammy (Andy) Zaelit, Evanston, WY; Keith (Dominique) Henrie, Provo; Peter (Stacy) Henrie, Pleasant Grove; Heather (Derek) Hansen, Pleasant Grove; Daniel, Katrina and Amanda Henrie, all of Pleasant Grove; three grandchildren; brother, Bill Eichler; and sister, Laurie Eichler. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the Battle Creek First Ward Chapel, 1255 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the church and on Thursday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Funeral directors - Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.
