Bunnie is pictured at age 18, while a student at Sam Houston Normal, Huntsville, Texas in 1882. She began her teaching career shortly thereafter which was to continue until 1932.

She was honored with a banquet at the Masonic Hall for her 50 years of teaching.

She was the sister of Elizabeth Grace, called Miss Lee. Both dedicated their lives to teaching young people to deal with life, for a top wage of $50 a month.

The Crockett City Council selected a faculty for the high school next session. They kept all teachers at the same salaries. Walker King at $125 per month, Mrs Spence at $50 per month and Mrs Lucy Collins, Miss Mary Denny, Miss B Arrington and Miss Adele Bruner at $45 per month each.
