Bruce Coleman Davis, 89, of 438 Old Stoney Creek Road, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville. He was born April 12, 1917 in Washington, DC the son of the late Ernest W. and Nellie T. Furntner Davis.
Mr. Davis was employed from 1935 until his retirement in 1975, from Eqitable Life Insurance Company and contintued his employment with Geological Survey as an accountant with 11 years of service. He was a member of the DC Federation of Musicians.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Mary Davis, a son; Gary S. Small and his wife Marilyn of Nellysford, two grandchildren; Samantha McClain and her fiancé Matt Mader, Nicole Garrison and her husband Chris, three great grandchildren, and a cousin Jane Werle and her husband Russell of Arlington.
A graveside service will be conducted 1:00PM Friday, March 16, 2007 at Wintergreen Church Cemetery. Family and friends may meet directly at the cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Matt Mader, Buddy Truslow, Ronnie Patrick, Wayne Carter, Johnny Carter, Gary Small and Herbert Truslow.
There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home, however friends and family can call at the funeral home until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007. The Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service is serving the family.
