She was born Oct. 1, 1899, in Randolph County, a daughter of William Clark and Agusta Myers Marsh. She was a resident of Trinity most of her life. She had been employed by Silver Knit Hosiery Co. and retired from Triangle Hosiery Co. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher in the children's department for 40 years and also was active in United Methodist Women of the church. In October 1978 she married Vernie Howard Albertson, who preceded her in death in June 1978. She also was preceded in death by two sons, William Howard Albertson and John Walter Albertson.
Surviving are a son, Basil E. Albertson Sr. of Ronniedale Road, Trinity; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Johnson of W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Stout of Thomasville; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, by the Rev. Chris Bennett and the Rev. Robert Witty. Burial will be in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her grandson, Ronnie Albertson, Albertson Farm Road.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
