J. M. ANDERSON DIES AT HOME IN KECKI

Postmaster There for Several Years Came to Kansas from Missouri in 1919

Joseph Michael Anderson died at his home at Kechi Saturday. He was born in Ohio on October 24, 1856, the son of John K. and Catherine Anderson. When three years old he moved with his parents to Barton county, Mo., living there until 18 years old when he moved to Somerset, la. He was married to Margaret Jackson on Feb. 25, 1881 at Somerset. He lived at Somerset, Barton county, Mo., Pioneer, Ia., and Des Moines where the children were educated. In 1919 he moved to Kansas.

Mr. Anderson became postmaster of Kechi in 1924 and held the position until 1931 when he gave it up to visit in California with an ill brother. He turned the postoffice over to his daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1929. He joined the Methodist Episcopal church at Kechi in 1923. He is survived by his widow; two daughters. Mrs. G. L. Tjaden and Mrs. H. H. Hites, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all living at Kechi, and three brothers, Alfred K., Pasadena, Cal., Harry, Manitou, Colo., and Ed, Denver, Colo. Downing mortuary is in charge.
