He had resided in Springfield, VT before moving to Claremont in 1975 after retiring from his position as a supervisor from Fellows Gear Shaper Co of Springfield where he had worked for twenty years. Previously, as a member of the Vermont Civil Service, he worked for the U S Forest Service for twenty years. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an active grandfather.
He married Annie Agnes Usko on August 22, 1936 in Claremont who preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by sister Mae Haskins in 1965 and brother Harold Tobin in 1944.
Surviving are two sons Montgomery Tobin of Garden City, SC and James Tobin of Stockbridge, VT; three sisters Cecille Boyed of Carlisle, PA, Ella Manning of Norwich, CT, and Jennie McEwen of Essex Jct, VT; two brothers Harley Tobin of Hyde Park, VT and Douglas Tobin of Underhill, VT; and two granddaughters.
Burial is in Mtn View cemetery.
