Hudson Clay Evans volunteered in the Naval Branch of service on August 6, 1918. Trained at Mare Island, Cal. Had attained the promotion to Seaman, 2d Class, when stricken with influenza, pneumonia developing, from which he died October 13. His body was sent home, where he was buried. Seaman Evans was born November 28, 1897, and reared at Hutto, where he graduated from High School. Son of Mrs. F. E. Evans.
