Known also as "Jack", he was the eigth child of Frederick and Jane Robinson. He left home at 16 to join the Coast Guard. He lied about his age in order to enlist. He married Edna Brenner on August 6th, 1924. Together they had four children. Jack worked for many years at the Brooklyn Union Gas Company.
