MARBLEHEAD - Albert L. (Rogers) Birchmore, 77, of Marblehead, died on Thursday evening in Salem Hospital.

She was born Feb. 12, 1921 in Marblehead, daughter of the late Albert O. and Irma A. (Reviere) Rogers. She attended Quincy High School.

Mrs. Birchmore was a chef at the Riptide Lounge in Marblehead for 13 years, until she retired in 1986. Before then, she worked for the "old" stands at Devereaux Beach. She was a member of the Old North Church and the Senior Citizens Club, both of Marblehead, and was past president of the Marblehead Women's Softball League.

She leaves three sons and two daughters-in-law, Paul V. and Janice A. Birchmore of Melrose, Ronald A. and Sally G. Birchmore of Swampscott and Robert V. Birchmore; a daughter, Karen A. Dziadyk and her fiance, Thomas Tucker of Salem; a brother, Paul Rogers of Rochester, N.H.; two sisters, Irma DePolo of Quincy and Elinor Henckel of Gorham, Maine; an aunt, Helen Reviere of Quincy; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert V. Birchmore, and her sister, Grace Santerre.

Visiting hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Eustis-Cornell Funeral Home of J.S. Waterman & Sons, 142 Elm St., Marblehead, followed by funeral services on Monday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
